Hindi na mandatory ang pagsusuot ng faceshield sa Maynila.
Ito ang idineklara ni Mayor Isko Moreno ngayong Lunes, November 8.
Kasunod ito ng nilagdaang Executive Order no. 42 ni Moreno matapos ibaba ang Alert level 2 status noong November 4 sa Metro Manila ng Inter-Agency Task Force for Managing Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).
Pero nilinaw ni Mayor Isko na kailangan pa rin ang pagsusuot ngf faceshields sa mga ospital, medical clinics at iba pang medical facilities.
“By the powers vested in me by law do hereby order that, pending the review of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the city ordinance on the matter, the wearing of face shields in the City of Manila is non-mandatory except in hospital setting, medical clinics and other medical facilities which shall remain to be mandatory,” saad sa E.O. ni Moreno na epektibo ngayong araw.
Nauna nang hinikayat ni Moreno ang national government na bumili na lamang ng gamot sa COVID-19 lalo na ang Tocilizumab at Remdesivir, sa halip na face shields.
Ipinunto rin ng alkalde na tanging ang Pilipinas lamang sa buong mundo ang gumagamit ng faceshield .
“Kung bumili ka ng 1,000 na Tocilizumab at P25,000 that is only P25 Million. Kapag bumili ka ng 10,000 na Tocilizumab at Remdisivir wala ka pang 200 Million nayakap mo pa buong Pilipinas. So ako payo ko talaga sa kanila wag face shield ang bilhin ninyo,” ayon pa kay Moreno.
