Inilabas na ng Liberal party ang mga inisyal na kandidato ng partido.
Kabilang sa mga nominado sa pagka-senador sa Liberal Party ay ang mga kasalukuyang senador na sina Francis Pangilinan, Leila de Lima at Risa Hontiveros.
Kasama rin sina human rights lawyer Chel Diokno at dating Senador Bam Aquino sa pambato ng LP sa pagka-senador sa Halalan 2022.
“First on the meetings’ agenda was the formal nomination of former Sen. Paolo Benigno ‘Bam’ Aquino IV and re-electionists Sen. Pangilinan and Sen. De Lima as among the Party’s initial list of senatorial candidates,” sinabi pa ng LP.
“Former Sen. Aquino is yet to announce plans to file for candidacy as senator,” dagdag pa nito.
Ipinasa rin ang isa pang resolusyon para kina Hontiveros at Diokno.
“LP also passed a resolution endorsing Akbayan Sen. Risa Hontiveros and Atty. Chel Diokno as part of its initial list of guest senatorial candidates, citing them as ‘candidates from outside [LP’s] ranks, who are aligned with its principles and values and as such are reliable partners in advancing its program of government’,” sabi ng LP.
