PANUKALANG PAGPAPALIBAN NG ELEKSYON SA BARMM, LUSOT SA IKATLONG PAGBASA SA SENADO

Lusot na sa Senado ang panukalang nagpapaliban sa kauna-unahan sanang regular election sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Sa botong 13-3 at isang nag-abstain ay naipasa sa Senado ang Senate Bill No. 2214 sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, imbes na sa 2022 ay sa 2025 gagawin ang eleksyon sa rehiyon kasabay ng national elections.

Sa pahayag ni Senator Francis Tolentino, ang sponsor ng panukala,  kailangang  iurong ang eleksyon sa rehiyon para mapalawig pa ang transition period dito.

“However, it (the committee) is also mindful of the Bangsamoro people’s right to assert their democracy in the said region and exercise their right of suffrage. Although the BTA (Bangsamoro Transition Authority) has considerably delivered some of its mandates under the BOL (Bangsamoro Organic Law), there is much work yet to be done,” sabi pa ni Tolentino.
