Dapat na ring isama sa prayoridad ang mga guro at mga staff ng eskwelahan sa COVID-19 vaccine, ayon sa World Health Organization (WHO) at UNICEF.
Sa pahayag ng United Nations noong Lunes, August 30, dapat umanong pasok ang mga guro at staff sa “target population groups in national vaccination plans,” para masiguro ang pagbubukas ng mga eskwelahan kahit may pandemya,
Noon pang November ng nakaraang taon inirekomenda ng mga eksperto sa WHO ang nasabing panukala.
“This is of paramount importance for children’s education, mental health and social skills, for schools to help equip our children to be happy and productive members of society,” ayon kay WHO European region director Hans Klug.
“The pandemic has caused the most catastrophic disruption to education in history,” giit pa ni Klug.
Patuloy ding ipinapanukala ng WHO ang pagbabakuna sa 12- anyos pataas na may underlying condition dahil mas vulnerable sila o mas mabilis mahawahan ng COVID-19.
