Puwede nang bakunahan ng COVID-19 booster shots ang lahat ng fully vaccinated adults simula ngayon, December 3, ayon sa advisory ng Department of Health (DOH).
“All fully vaccinated adults are eligible to receive COVID-19 booster shots starting December 3. Those who have completed their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines can be inoculated… regardless of which vaccines are taken in the first two doses,” pahayag ng DOH.
Maglalabas ng operational guidelines ang National Vaccination Operations Center kaugnay sa pagpapatupad nito.
“Sunod na rin sila (adult general population) as long as there have been six months from the second dose of a primary series,” ayon kay DOH Secretary Francisco Duque.
Sinimulan noong isang buwan ang pagbibigay ng booster shots sa priority groups A1, A2 at A3, o mga frontline healthcare workers, senior citizens at adults with comorbidities.
Ang roll-out ng booster shots para sa adult general population ay kasabay ng pagtugon sa posibleng banta ng Omicron variant ng COVID-19 na itinuturing na variant of concern ng World Health Organization.
