Inaprubahan na ng Food and Drug Administration ang pagtuturok ng COVID-19 booster shot sa mga edad 18 pataas, ayon sa anunsyo ng Department of Health.
“[It was] approved on Monday (November 29) to include all adults 18 years old and above, based on assessment of benefit and risk, similar to US CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] recommendations for boosters,” ayon kay FDA Director-General Rolando Enrique Domingo.
“The emergency use authorization (EUA) has been approved. We will just finalize the guidelines in the next couple of days,” ayon naman kay Department of Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje sa Laging Handa interview.
Ayon sa gobyerno, marami na ang sumusuporta sa booster shots ngunit marami pa rin ang nangangailangan ng paunang COVID-19 vaccination.
Lahad pa ni Cabotaje, nasa 600,000 booster shots na ang naiturok mula noong Lunes.
Nauna nang sinimulan ang pag-administer ng booster shots sa healthcare workers noong November 17, at sa senior citizens at immunocompromised individuals noong November 22.
