Damage control umano ang ginagawa ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kanyang bantang kulong para sa executives ng Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation sa kasong tax evasion, ayon kay Senator Risa Hontiveros.
Ayon kay Hontiveros, nararamdaman na ng pangulo ang init sa serye ng imbestigasyon ng senado sa kuwestyonableng transaksyon ng gobyerno sa pagbili ng pandemic supplies.
“’Yun ang ginamit niyang peg to change his stance pero alam naman natin halos lahat, if hindi man lahat, tungkol kay Presidente ay pulitikal talaga. Speaking of kusina, he’s feeling the heat,” ayon kay Hontiveros sa ANC.
Nitong Martes, pinagbantaan ng pangulo ang Pharmally executives.
“Those Pharmally [officials] who did not pay [their taxes], they should be made to pay… For all we care, those persons there who did not pay, that’s tax evasion. They can all go to prison. That’s their problem,” pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte sa Talk to People, Martes.
“Those in Pharmally who were said to have not paid, put them in prison. If you want, kill them. We don’t care. If they don’t pay their taxes, they’re criminals,” dagdag pa ng pangulo.
Matatandaang noong una ay ipinagtatanggol pa ng pangulo ang Pharmally at binatikos ang mga senador na lumalahok sa inbestigasyon.
