Tatakbong senador sa 2022 elections si dating Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar sa ilalim ng Partido ni presidential aspirant Senador Panfilo Lacson at running mate Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
Papalitan Ni Eleazar ang newspaper columnist at PWD advocate na si Paolo Capino na nagpahayag ng kanyang pag-atras noong Biyernes dahil sa mababang survey.
“Yes, I confirm that he will run under Partido Reporma to substitute for Paolo Capino who has announced his intention to withdraw from the senatorial race,” pahayag ni Senador Lacson.
Si Eleazar ay nagserbisyo ng anim na buwan sa PNP at nagretiro ngayong Sabado, Nov. 13.
Pinalitan siya ni Lt. Gen. Dionardo Carlos bilang PNP chief.
Ang Commission on elections ay tatanggap ng aplikasyon para sa withdrawals at substitutions hanggang Lunes, Nov. 15.
