Desperado na umano ang PDP-laban Cusi wing dahil sa paghihikayat nito kay Pangulong Duterte na tumakbong senador sa 2022 elections.
Ayon kay senator Koko Pimentel, nagbibigay ito ng impresyon na walang malakas na kandidato sa kanilang grupo kaya umaasa sila sa popularidad at malakas na personalidad ng pangulo.
Giit ni Pimentel, ito ang tinatawag na “personality politics”, bagay na gusto nilang matigil sa lalong madaling panahon.
“Shows desperation on the part of Cusi and his group. They give impression that they do not have strong candidates within their group and that they are simply riding on and are totally dependent on the popularity and strength of personality of the incumbent president,” ayon kay Pimentel.
Sabi pa ng senador, mahalaga aniya na maisulong ang umiral ay issue-based politics.
Mas matitiyak umano ang magandang kinabukasan ng bansa kung boboto ang publiko alinsunod sa programa ng kandidato at hindi dahil sa blind loyalty sa isang tao na may hinihintay na kapalit.
“We should all aspire for issues based politics. The god future of our country is better assured by a program of government approved by the people thru their votes than by blind loyalty to a mortal person with the expectation of a return favor,” ayon pa kay Pimentel.
Bagamat umatras na ang pangulo sa pagtakbo sa pagka-pangalawang pangulo at nagsabing magre-retiro na sa pulitika, kinukumbinsi naman siya ngayon nina Secretary Alfonso Cusi na tumakbo sa bilang senador.
