Kinumpirma ng Malacanang ang appointment ni dating NTF-ELCAC Spokesperson Antonio Parlade Jr. sa National Security Council.
Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Parlade bilang Director General ng National Security Council.
“The Palace confirms that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed the appointment of Mr. Antonio G. Parlade, Jr. yesterday, September 8, 2021, as Deputy Director-General of the National Security Council,” ayon kay Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
“Deputy Director-General Parlade faithfully served the Armed Forces of the Philippines for many years until his retirement from the service. We are therefore confident that his length of fruitful service in the military would immensely contribute to the crafting of plans and policies affecting national security. We wish DDG Parlade well in his new assignment,” dagdag pa ni Roque.
July ngayong taon nang magresign bilang National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict spokesperson si Parlade.
Nagretiro rin si Parlade noong July mula sa pagiging commander of the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Southern Luzon Command.
Matatandaang naging kontrobersiyal si Parlade dahil na rin sa mga isyu ng red tagging sa ilang mga kilalang personalidad gaya nina Angel Locsin, Liza Soberano at sa mga organizer ng community pantry.
