Positibo ang pananaw ng OCTA Research Group na magkakaroon ng maligayang Pasko ang Pilipinas dahil sa posibleng pagtatapos ng COVID-19 surge sa Disyembre.
“Overall, I think it’s going to be a good Christmas for us. I’m very optimistic that this is not just a light at the end of the tunnel but we’re seeing the endgame,” pahayag ni OCTA Research Fellow Dr. Guido David sa CNN Philippines.
Maaaring mas bumaba na rin aniya ang 7-day average ng COVID-19 cases sa National Capital Region (NCR) bago mag-Nobyembre.
Sa ngayon, nasa 3,120 ang 7-day average ng Metro Manila.
“We think it could [go] lower than 600 cases per day. For November, we’re seeing that it could be down to less than 1,000 cases per day… So it might be that by November, we’re already at low risk,” ani David.
Umaasa ang mga eksperto na magiging epektibo ang mga hakbang upang makontrol ang Delta variant partikular sa NCR.
“As we saw in India, for example. They had the surge last March, April. It was a massive surge. Since then they have contained it. They have had no resurges… We’re hoping and I’m expecting to see the same thing in the Philippines,” paliwanag ni David.
